**Flu**We have sent flu invitation letters to all those patients aged over 65 and those patients with an underlying health condition aged 18-64.
We will contact those patients aged 50-64 without an underlying health condition in October. As we are receiving the flu vaccines for this cohort during October.
We will contact parents/guardians of children eligible for a flu vaccine during mid September.

How and when to get your COVID-19 booster vaccine
You'll be offered a booster dose at least 6 months after you had your 2nd dose.
The NHS will let you know when it's your turn to have a booster dose. It's important not to contact the NHS for one before then.
Most people will be invited to book an appointment at a larger vaccination centre such as the one in Harleston or a pharmacy like Eye pharmacy
The following groups are eligible and will be invited in the same priority order that you were invited for your previous dose of the vaccine:
frontline health and social care workers
all adults aged 50 years or over
all those aged 16 to 49 years with underlying health conditions that puts them at higher risk of severe COVID-19, and adult carers
adult household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals

GP & NURSE EDUCATIONAL DAYS
Ipswich & East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group organise monthly 'virtual' training events for practices across Suffolk. We will be closed for clinics from 1pm on the following days so our doctors and nurses can attend these events:
13th October 2021, 11th November 2021, 8th December 2021, 10th February 2022 & 9th March 2022
The telephones will be diverted to the Out of Hours provider, who will be covering any clinical emergencies.

Due to the current pandemic of Coronavirus, we have had to change the way you access medical care at the Practice. The below is supported by the recommended guidance from NHS England. Our priority is to keep our patients and GPs and staff safe. If you are presenting with either a new cough or fever or loss of taste or smell, please follow NHS England advice. DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS.
For your safety we have measures in place to restrict the number of patients in the waiting room, Dispensary & Reception areas at any one time.

GP & ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER APPOINTMENTS
Due to coronavirus, how you contact us will be different at the moment. We are following NHS England advice to limit face-to-face contact whenever possible and help stop the spread of coronavirus and allow for social distancing in our waiting rooms.
All GP and Advance Nurse Practitioner appointments are available to book as telephone consultations. If you are booking ahead for a routine telephone consultation these are pre-bookable via telephone or online. Face to face appointments are available to all patients where there is a clinical need.
Our clinicians will have a conversation with the patient during the initial triage to ascertain the best way to address patients concerns, this may be via a face to face consultation. We see many patients face to face each day following clinical triage by a GP or ANP. Video consultations are also available, during your initial telephone triage consultations with a clinician please let them know you would like a video consultation.
Please speak to the Receptionist when booking your appointment if you have any concerns about the type of appointment you are offered and they will try to accommodate your preference for a face to face appointment where possible.
We are following enhanced infection control processes to stop the spread of coronavirus. This means the clinicians follow a thorough cleaning process after each face to face appointment. We therefore have a reduced capacity for face to face appointments.
Please remember that each appointment is only 10 minutes long so only one problem can be safely dealt with during that time. The clinician will ask you to book a further appointment if you have multiple issues to discuss.
We will have to delay non-urgent procedures such as over 75 reviews, Ear Syringes (all practices have been advised not to do these as they are a virus transmission risk - oiling for a number of weeks could resolve the problem without the need for syringing), smoking cessation and NHS Health Checks.
LONG TERM CONDITION REVIEWS- INVITATIONS IN THE MONTH OF YOUR BIRTH-
If you normally have a review of your long term condition such as Diabetes, Asthma, COPD or a heart condition you will now be sent a review invitation letter in the month of your birth. The Clinical Commissioning Group in Suffolk have provided all GP practices systems to allow them to follow ‘a month of birth’ recall system. It is nationally recognised that a ‘month of birth’ recall system is a good way to ensure that every patient with a long term condition is invited to an annual review. Over the last year some patients understandably have chosen not to attend the practice for their review so have fallen outside their normal review period. It therefore especially makes sense to transition to a new system now, so patients know when they will receive their next review invitation. During this first transitional year it may mean that patients have a longer or shorter interval between their reviews. The nurse may feel that you should be seen more frequently than annually and they will discuss this with you and ask you to make more frequent appointments. Please wait for your review invitation letter. Thank you for your help and bearing with us during this transitional time.
Blood Tests - We are having to allocate much longer for each blood test appointment. For your safety our staff need to follow the necessary infection control procedures. This means that capacity for blood test appointments is reduced and waits for a blood test appointment has increased. Please bear with us during these challenging times.
To reduce footfall in the Practice please avoid coming into the surgery to book appointments. If you have a problem and need to be seen, please phone the practice instead or book an appointment online. Details for the NHS App are available here
Please be aware that our staff will also have to self-isolate if they develop symptoms so we will have a reduced workforce. This may mean that it takes us longer to answer your phone calls or there may be longer waits for appointments. We have a limited number of phone lines and if our clinicians are making more phone calls it may make it more difficult for you to contact us. Please bear with us, these are exceptional circumstances and we are doing all we can to best support you.
Due to workload pressures the Dispensary at Fressingfield will close between 1pm and 2pm every day until further notice. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you very much for your assistance
Please ensure you provide 3 working days notice for prescriptions.
DELIVERY SERVICE & COLLECTING FOR OTHER PEOPLE
If you are unable to collect medications, your families, neighbours and friends can pick up medications for you if you provide them with consent to do so. If you do not have anyone that can help you there are now a number of volunteer schemes. Hopefully you would have received details of the volunteer delivery schemes running in your areas. Many of you will be aware of the Stradbroke Good Neighbours scheme - 07749 445531 who will be able to help you. Please ensure the person collecting your medications has your full name and address and if you are under 60 the details of the relevant box to tick on the back of the prescription. A volunteer cannot collected 'controlled' drugs.

Every patient is allocated a 'NAMED GP'. If you have 'repeat medication' your repeat prescription slip will show your 'named accountable GP'. We ensure that any letters that you receive from the practice indicate your 'named GP'. All new patients and those over 75 will have been contacted to inform them of their 'named GP'. Any patients that do not know their 'named GP' are welcome to ask at reception when visiting or telephoning the practice

Bring this form into the practice with proof of identity (such as passport, utility bill, driving licence)
You will then receive a registration letter in the post or we will provide it to you when you visit the practice. This letter will provide all the necessary information to allow you to create a new online account
